Hair Loss!

So Caroline and I are both loosing our hair! She's loosing it on her sides, mine, it's falling out everywhere, I can't pin-point a location, just everywhere. Everyday I take in deep breaths! It came back last time, it will come back this time. Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale.

Colic got the best of me!

I haven't posted anything for a long time... Caroline's colic set us back, but we're back up and running. There was a lot of running around the house, bouncing, bath taking, shushing, etc. to get her to calm down/fall asleep. It finally ended when she was 12 weeks! We had 10 STRAIGHT weeks of colic. Every evening from 6pm -11pm, she cried non-stop. My pediatrician diagnoses colic as an immature nervous system. Basically, a colicky baby is overwhelmed by this new world and becomes extremely overstimulated. At the end of the day, she expresses her over stimulation with incessant crying. Poor thing!

Top the colic off with projectile reflux and even refluxing out of her nose, Caroline had a bumpy start in to this world. We took each day in stride. She is an amazing gift to our family. Emory loves, loves, loves her sister. She tells her sister everyday that she loves her (with NO encouragement from mom or dad, just on her own). So sweet! Our little family is doing great!

Bed Time!

Here's a picture of the girls... Nite-nite!

Mammoth - Dec 09

Although this was awhile back I wanted to share some cute pictures of my favorite snowboarder!

Gymnastics

It used to be called "nastics" in our house, but now it's simply gymnastics. Bill came home early from work and took Emory to gymnastics - and he got some great pictures of her in action. Emory has been at it since September. She is getting so good at it. Her favorite part is the trampoline. GO EMORY!

I had some photography done today of Emory and Caroline. I can't wait to see the pictures, bummer, they said two weeks to see the proofs! I can't wait already. They both did great. Caroline woke up (on her own) for the session so we had some great eyes open shots. Emory was hamming it up behind the camera. That shyness is starting to fade away.

Caroline had a peds appointment yesterday. She's two weeks and weighs 8.8 pounds already. Her nickname is "barracuda". The skinny lil' 7 pounder is filling out! She's doing great. She's so easy...during the day... nighttime, well, we're working on that. She's "colicky" or "fussy" whatever you want to call it for a good part of the night. Oh well. One of the good things about being a parent for the second time is that you know that whatever is happening is going to end. That thought is helping me keep some sanity.

We dropped Emory's nap! She's now going to bed at a more appropriate 3 year old bedtime- 7pm  and sleeps until 7:00am. It has made such a difference for her and for Bill and I. Love it!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hope you all had a great St. Patty's Day! Emory got all dressed up in her shamrock shirt (given to her by GiGi) and wore her "pot o' gold" shoes to match! She looked so adorable going to school this morning. Apparently, leprechauns visited her school today and left green footprints and green glitter everywhere. She was so excited about the whole thing. She now thinks that leprechauns come and make messes! Emory also got a special treat and got to go to Grammy's house this afternoon! Thanks Grammy! Here's a picture of our little leprechaun!
